Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone else here was collecting the Sin City graphic novels and I had a question--do you have to read them in order for them to make sense?

I have volumes 1, 3, & 5, and I've always been under the impression that all of these are just one-shot stories.

Just wanted to make sure before starting it. Thanks!

Sometimes the storylines overlap with each other, but only peripherally, and they definitely aren't linear, so they'll make sense in any order. Violent Marv was actually written first I think, but both A Dame to Kill for and That Yellow Bastard start out earlier in time.

Basically you can read 'em any way you want.
